What is the principle of ultrasonic wind speed and direction?

The working principle of ultrasonic wind speed and direction meter is to use ultrasonic time difference method to measure wind speed. The velocity of the sound in the air will be superimposed on the velocity of the wind. If the direction of propagation of the ultrasonic wave is the same as the direction of the wind, its speed will increase. Conversely, if the direction of ultrasonic wave propagation is opposite to the direction of the wind, its speed will become slower.

Therefore, under fixed detection conditions, the speed at which ultrasonic waves propagate in the air can correspond to the wind speed function. Accurate wind speed and wind direction can be obtained through calculation. As the sound wave propagates in the air, its speed is greatly affected by temperature; the anemometer detects two opposite directions on both channels, so the effect of temperature on the sound wave velocity is negligible. Because it overcomes the inherent flaws of the mechanical wind speed and wind direction instrument well, it can work normally all the time and for a long time, and it is more and more widely used. It will be a powerful alternative to mechanical anemometers. The user can select the unit of wind speed, output frequency and output format as required. Heating units (recommended for use in cold conditions) or analog outputs can also be selected as needed. Can be used with computers, data loggers, or other acquisition devices that have RS485 or analog output. If necessary, multiple stations can also be used as a network.
